The awaited hour is inching closer, the anticipation is touching record highs and all sorts of possible and impossible outcomes of the impending keynote have been thoroughly discussed, debated upon and beaten to death. Everyone is awaiting the time when the clock strikes 09:00 AM PT tomorrow and Steve Jobs takes the stage at Moscone South, with bated breath and hyped up expectations.
What is Apple to do at such a stage? Why, hype it up even more, of course. Last year, Apple had placed a graphic on their website homepage that showed off the shiny black Apple logo and declared that “the first thirty years were just the beginning”. This time round, the Apple logo is back with slight cosmetic changes and so is the tantalizingly familiar promotional message “There’s something in the air.”
The banner also mentions that you can “watch The Macworld 2008 Keynote by Steve Jobs, Tuesday afternoon on Apple.com”. No streaming video live from the keynote address as it happens this time either, of course. I just hope they’ll make it available via iTunes like they did the last year’s keynote.
Set your countdowns. It isn’t too far away now. Remember, the MacUser team will constantly be at your service, live-blogging at the mothership and keeping you up to date on the myriad announcements and goings-on throughout the expo right here on our happy little blog.
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
Apple is sick. Don't they know that macboys around the globe have already got their blood pressure in a mess? This is sure to cause some kinds of panic attacks. :)
Also, about web streaming thing. This kind of streaming should follow something like the torrent architecture. That way they can support streaming for such events and not have their servers go down the river of caranzalem. Now I'm not sure how this technology works, but I'm sure Apple can devise a method to do this...
