If you’ve impatiently been trying to figure out ways to watch the March 6 Event video and streaming isn’t your thing, you’ll be glad to know that Apple has now made it available as a freely downloadable video podcast on iTunes (iTunes link). At approximately 800MB though, it’s quite the monster.
Even if the SDK is of no particular interest to you (are you kidding me!), you must download and watch this video. John Doerr, a partner of the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, had the following to say as a salute to the Apple CEO:
Entrepreneurs are the risk takers, they are the revolutionaries, they are the rebels, and so it’s particularly touching for me to be here today with the supreme commander of the rebels, my friend, Steve Jobs.By now you all know the story—in 1976, Steve started Apple and the whole personal computer industry. Then, along the way, Steve left Apple [and] went downhill fast.
What’s remarkable is this entrepreneur returned and resurrected Apple to greatness and, in his spare time, at the same time, he bought, built, and ran Pixar, literally defining the computer animated film industry. It’s really pretty amazing. So on this special day, my friends, please join me in a salute for the world’s greatest entrepreneur, Steve Jobs.
At the risk of sounding like a complete fanboy, I have to say that this monologue alone made it worth the price of admission for me and justified my having spent three hours the other day trying to watch the streaming version of the video—when I could just have waited for one more day and downloaded it instead.
Maybe we should wait for a couple more days and Apple will release a high definition streaming video followed by a downloadable podcast in all its HD glory. Who knows, Apple might also make it available on BitTorrent (and pigs might take to wings).
Disclaimer: Before deciding to wait, you should know that the author of this post is no Nostradamus and has a very poor record in the field of predicting the future. Though he did once predict that he would get the flu two days before he actually did…

Why go through the trouble of streaming? Brokenstones brings about all of the keynotes within a day or two.
Downloaded it and skipped some parts of it until I got to the "juicy parts".
Uhh, the HD stream went up days ago.
True. The HD version has already been put up...
Due to the evil contrivance of the Internet connection and my head, I was down with a splitting headache and no Internet access for the past couple of days.
Therefore, I wasn't aware of the HD stream.
I hope you guys can find it in yourselves to grant me pardon for this unforgivable offense. Remember the fun times we've had? :p
