Gonna party, it’s your birthday

Applecake Surprise! You thought we forgot, didn’t you? Of course not, how could we? Yes, OS X, six years ago today you went on sale in retail stores, and the MacUser team would never forget to celebrate it. Sure, it’s not the big 05, but hey, your existence is still something to party about. I mean, what else would I be writing this post on, Windows? I don’t think so. To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime occasion, you can go and read the original OS X press release, or just bake a cake. Mmm, cake.

But what would life today be like without OS X? At least for me, very different. For all I know, I could have ended up switching to Ubuntu and writing for a Linux blog. But fortunately, Apple brought “the world’s most advanced operating system” up from the depths of R&D and into the world. So, here’s to another six years of an awesome UI, great security, and an overall amazing operating system.
