Early planning: Macworld Expo sessions

macworldexpo.jpgNormally I don’t plan trips until a week or so before they actually happen (my record was four days for a trip to Japan), but recently I’ve adopted a little-known concept called “preparedness” and have already organized my trip to Macworld Conference & Expo in January.

The folks at the conference apparently saw my clever plan-ahead tactics, and followed my lead: They’ve announced the full line-up of presentations and sessions for the five-day conference. There are six separate conference categories, which I shall succinctly summarize in clear, easy-to-read sentences:

  • Power Tools Conference - Two days of intense topic-focused training.
  • MacIT Conference - IT training and networking (the people kind, not the wired kind) for you system admin folk.
  • Users Conference - End-user-oriented sessions for a broad array of Mac-related subjects.
  • Hands-on MacLabs - Small-class, hands-on training for those looking for in-depth instruction.
  • Market Symposiums - Day-long conference-in-a-conference tracks designed to provide info and tools to keep you ahead of tech market trends.
  • Specialty Programs - Multiple series of tracks dedicated to specific topics, such as MS Office, the iPhone, and education.

They also announced the show’s feature presentations, including Pogue’s hilarious Macworld Live! With David Pogue talk show, and The Process of Elimination, a Mac trivia game hosted by Andy Ihnatko (which I guess is replacing the famed MacBrainiac Challenge). Oh, and, of course, the keynote (but who will be hosting it? Tune in later for the shocking conclusion).

Everything you need to know about the expo is right on the website. Click around, decide if you want to go (trust me, you do), and get plannin’. Hurry, it’s only three months away.
