I’m currently at the C4 conference in Chicago (photographic proof provided by Infinite Loop’s Jacqui and Clint). In case you’re unfamiliar with C4, it’s a conference targeted at independent Mac developers. From the outside, it might be called the poor man’s WWDC, but that’s a moniker most attendees would dispute vigorously. For more, you can read my preview of the conference over at Macworld.
So far, we’ve heard presentations from the likes of conference organizer Jonathan “Wolf” Rentzsch, Delicious Monster’s Wil Shipley, and Red Sweater Software proprietor and Friend of the Blog, Daniel Jalkut. Topics have ranged from using hype to sell your software to exploring the programming language Erlang (kind of technical for me). I know that Pat will rue missing Allan Odgaard discussing the history and future of TextMate. One impression: it’s pretty easy to see how Apple sold so many iPhones as I swear that at least half of the attendees have them.
Tomorrow we’ll be looking forward to the ever-amusing Panic co-founder Cabel Sasser, a presentation by Fake Steve Jobs himself, and the Iron Coder Live “hack” competition (from what I’ve been hearing, a certain tasty company has developed something pretty spiffy). It’s been a fun time, putting faces with names and applications, and I’m looking forward to the rest of day two and day three.
Oh, yeah, and the dog tags are totally sweet.
Dan,
I like the blog man, but this sounds real nerdy.
