With the news of the iPhone SDK now behind us, it’s time to look forward to June, when a young Apple’s fancy turns to thoughts of the annual Worldwide Developer Conference. And, indeed, Apple has set the date for its yearly shindig, which will take place June 9th-13th at the Palladium Moscone Center West.
Oh, the fun those developers will have, learning all the ins and outs of developing for the Mac—wait, what’s that? The Mac’s not the most prominent track? Whatever could th—the iPhone, huh? Quelle surprise. A ticket to the main event requires an ADC membership and runs $1295, or $1694 if you want to pick up a membership alongside. But, if you buy four tickets, you can get one free (ooh), for just $5180.
Apple’s divided this year’s WWDC into three separate tracks: the iPhone, the Mac, and IT. The latter focuses largely on Leopard Server and its related technologies, which seems to indicate that Apple’s pushing for enterprise marketshare across the board.
And, of course, we’ll likely be seeing a keynote presentation from Grand Poobah Steve Jobs to kickoff the festivities. What will Steve-O have up his sleeves this year? A sneak peek at OS X 10.6 (Angry House Cat)? New high-level hardware? Pink iPhones? I, for one, will have “Final Countdown” on an endless loop in iTunes until June 9th, to the distressed but inaudible pleas of my roommates.
