I think we’re all very excited by the Mac related announcements happening at 10 AM Pacific time today. So, I stopped by the AppleGazette to discover that .Mac will be undergoing some scheduled maintenance tomorrow at magic hour.
Due to scheduled maintenance, .Mac members might be intermittently unable to access some .Mac services from 10 AM to 12 PM PDT on 08/07/2007. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Now, normally, I don’t play into rumors, but at this point, mere inference is enough to find a connection between these two events. It looks likely to me that .Mac will finally, finally get those much needed upgrades that users have been crying for. I do have to say that as a subscriber, I may just be willing to believe that this means added .Mac value just so I don’t feel like such a sucker for sticking with the service for so long.
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun. (Plus, we've got columns by Andy Ihnatko!)

Same here, I feel like a sucker too. .Mac is so slow. Email forwarding takes forever. and my web sites on .mac take forever to load.
I hope Apple speeds things up.
I don't care as much about adding new services (Back to My Mac) as much as I want them to optimize the services they already have.
actually... you can feel however you want... but I've never seen the value in .mac -- at least in terms of features/$. There better be a significant price drop associated with the announcement.
