Are you an RF Wireless Technician looking for a gig? How about a Software Whitebox QA Lead? Perhaps you’re a Senior Visual Designer or a Camera Engineer? A quick search on Apple’s job site yields those and around thirty five other positions, all for the iPhone project. Now that it’s been announced, Apple’s staffing up to deliver the handset in June. Is there much we can glean from the job postings?
So far, most of what’s apparent are the kind of things that we already knew: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, Cellular capabilities, hardware, software, blah blah blah. I did note that the description for “iPhone Senior Visual Designer” contains some interesting language:
Apple’s Mac OS X User Interface Group is seeking a senior visual designer with dynamic interfaces or animation experience who possesses a passion for great design and shows an exceptional eye for detail. The designer will conceive, design and develop future enhancements to Aqua, the dynamic user interface for Mac OS X. We’re looking for a visually articulate designer capable of communicating their ideas through compelling high-fidelity illustrations and prototypes.Could this suggest that there is in fact a link between the iPhone’s UI and Mac OS X’s UI? Seems to me the iPhone UI is very reminiscent of iTunes 7. Sorry to say, it seems more likely that the job description was cribbed from Apple’s Mac OS X group, but who knows? If you’re the lucky one who happens to end up in this position, just remember who sent you there and drop us a line, all right?
