Opp dishes on iPhone, MobileMe at Citi Tech Conference

peteroppenheimer.jpgYou know we love us some Peter Oppenheimer—he’s the oppenheimiest. As is his yearly habit, Apple’s CFO sat down for a cozy chat at Citigroup’s annual Global Technology Conference to chat a little bit about Apple, its financials, and his hobby of collecting rare vintage bottle caps circa 1864.

At least two out of three of those are true.

Given that this is a public appearance and that Apple’s having a special event in less than a week, there’s not much of note in Opp’s remarks, of which Silicon Alley Insider has a liveblog. Peter toed the company line on all sorts of issues, including MobileMe:

With MobileMe, we absolutely believe it’s the right product for our increasingly mobile customers. Wish we’d rolled out over smaller increments, not the same day as iPhone 2.0, iPhone 3G, App Store. Working on several improvements, working very hard to make it something we can all be proud of.

There’s also some iPhone-related jibber jabber in the notes, which I urge you to peruse if you’re anywhere near as big an Oppenheimer fan as we are. Consider it the appetizer before next week’s pièce de résistance.
