Just a couple of days ago, we caught wind of Steve Jobs saying some nice things about NBC in a BusinessWeek interview - “We’ll put it back together on the TV thing. Everybody lost. But NBC is a great company, and Apple is a great company.” Some of us might have been skeptical of that first statement, assuming that it was penned down for him by some PR person and he spewed it out word-for-word, just for appearance’s sake.
Today, however, gracing the pages of the Financial Times, NBC CEO Jeff Zucker had some kind words for Apple as well, and Steve Jobs in particular (free registration required). “We’ve said all along that we admire Apple, that we want to be in business with Apple.” Really? I guess I must’ve missed it in that speech where Zucker flat-out declared that Apple had “destroyed the music business”. Zucker didn’t seem to have much of a problem with “the destroyer” today though because he actually went on to say that “we’re great fans of Steve Jobs”.
So, first Jobs says that NBC is a great company and then Jeff Zucker says he admires Apple and would love an autograph from Steve Jobs. Does this mean that Jobs was right when he said that they would bring NBC back to the iTunes Store? Or is it all just smoke and mirrors intended to shield the politics going on in the background? We’ll let you decide.

Not sure why, but when I first read the article, I thought you'd said "we broke wind"...after reading the article, I'm still thinking the same thing...
