Oh France, when will you stop? First, you passed a law forcing Apple to open up their DRM, or they won’t be able to sell iTunes content in France (though parts of the bill were later overturned), and now you’re back, along with Germany, in joining a European alliance forcing Apple to open up their DRM. This group, started by Norway, says that Apple will have to open up their DRM before June 2006 August 2006 September 2007, or…else. Well, with Germany and France now part of this alliance, Apple may feel more pressure to crack open FairPlay. Still, with an iPod-iTunes (and now iPhone and Apple TV) monopoly possibly on the line, Apple may risk losing many of its European customers to keep their iron hold on other iTunes purchasers.

What's wrong with a country going against something that clearly no one likes? Oh, yes, it bothers our great US corporations... However, when we go against the wishes of the Eu, that is good, right?
Come on, how about some impartiality. Yes, Apple's DRM are laughable and easily circumvented and yes it isn't really great news, but stop pissing on the French. It's boring and shows our immaturity that seems to make everyone else on this planet smile. Our country could have very well been just another English colony without France.
