Say you’re a young undergrad on the cusp of leaving school and throwing yourself into this wide open world of ours, armed only with a diploma and an ironic T-shirt: where would you like to find yourself working?
According to Universum Communications’s 2007 Most Desirable Undergraduate Employer rankings, Apple is looking pretty tasty to many a collegian. Here are the top five most desirable employers:
1. GoogleOkay, I can see why Google might come in first—I hear their setup is pretty sweet—but Disney?, I mean, let’s face it: if you want to work for Disney, you’re going to have spend some time paying your dues by wearing a giant mouse costume and getting pummeled by children. Sound attractive now? Yeah, didn’t think so.
2. Disney
3. Apple
4. United States Department of State
5. Peace Corps
Still, if you ask me, the whole “most desirable employers” ranking is a sham. I mean, come on: college students don’t want to work. Back in my own lovely golden years at an institution of higher learning, the very word caused an involuntary shiver, like a cloud had just obscured the sun.
That said, it’s refreshing to see that the power of the private sector can still trump peace and diplomacy. There’s the America I know and love.

You know... there's a lot more to working at Disney than just Disney World. They have probably one of the best animation studios out there (both 2D and right up there with Pixar for 3D). There are a lot of creative and marketing positions as well. I think it's no surprise that they're up there.

Gee Dan, I think you misread that. It's the US Department of State :)
well, I think that Disney listing includes Pixar, like jackfrost pointed out, so that might be why it's up at the top.
