You might remember that one of the smaller piece of news to come out of WWDC, nearly two months ago, was Apple’s redesign of their website. Their US website. International users were left out in the cold of the traditional look.
Well, since yesterday, that’s no longer the case: nearly all international Apple websites now sport the dark grey design US visitors have grown accustomed to.
There is, however, one improvement sorely missing from all international websites: an iPhone tab.
For a guy who lives in a country where Apple hasn’t even announced when the iPhone would be available (Canada), it’s painful indeed. At least Europeans can expect the phone in Q4 — that means before the end of September. It’s coming, it’s coming…
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
To be consistent with its presence here in Brazil, Apple has not updated the website yet. The current front page shows the 'new' iPod shuffle...
I share your pain, Thomas. The one consolation I have is that maybe by the time it comes to Canada, Apple will have solved that whole battery thing.
Then again, maybe that'll never happen given Canadian mobile providers' extortionate data pricing: http://www.michaelgeist.ca/content/view/2118/159/
Thanks for your comments, guys.
Gui, I'm sorry to hear that. Don't you guys also have the most expensive iPod nano pricing, something like the equivalent of US$320 for 2GB? From what I see, the only countries with the old design are Brazil, Mexico, and India, but I expect Apple to update those soon enough. I hope they do!
Yes, prices down here are crazy, but that's not really Apple's fault, as taxes make up the bulk of it. If we're lucky and prices remain the same the new iMac will be sold for the equivalente of US$ 2500 for the 20-inch model and US$ 4500 for the 24-inch model.
It's not reached the Middle East yet (www.appleme.ae)
France has it now. Not a big fan of it though, a bit kludgy and big.
