MBAs want to be at Apple

Help Wanted You might be unaware of the fact that MBAs and engineers fight like cats and dogs (best documented by Dilbert). The lengths it goes to are almost impossible to understand without being directly involved. Despite that conflict, there is one thing that we can all agree upon. Apple is a top 10 employer.

According to the research firm Universum, 10.78% of MBAs put Apple in their top 5 most desirable workplaces. What the survey doesn’t tell you is the reason that so many want to work for our favorite company. I have it on good authority (came up with it in the shower this morning, where all good analysts do their best thinking) that it’s the iPod discounts. Nothing else.

The college fueled iPod lust drives simple minded MBAs to choose Apple as an employer despite their better judgment. The same source tells me that engineers have a much better reason. It’s cool.
