Fire burns Apple headquarters

Posted by Derik DeLong | Wednesday, August 13, 2008 6:00 AM PT

Fire at Apple When passion runs as hot as it does at places like Apple, something is bound to combust eventually. Apple had a small fire at their Cupertino headquarters. This is no tiny blaze either. The fire that burned for three hours and started late yesterday was actually a three alarm fire.

No one was hurt and firefighters quickly stopped the fire. Clearly they knew how important the company is to all of us. There are some remnants though.

Senior Communications Dispatcher Rafael Salcedo says some flames continue to burn in a hard-to-reach area under an air conditioner. He says “the fire itself is not very big, but there is going to be a lot of smoke damage.”

No word on the cause, but as I alluded to before, I think we all know how. Then again, maybe someone just left a MacBook Pro sitting on a couch.
