In one of those “why didn’t Apple think of this?” moments, Brandon Holland has released a way to get Safari onto your Apple TV. Imagine reading CNN in full, glorious HD, right on your wall. The web is a great way to supplement the functionality of your Apple TV. With all these recent developments with the tiny box, I’m really beginning to think about buying one once again.
Surely you must be wondering if this works with the newly released 2.0 version of Apple TV’s software. It does (along with 1.1) with some caveats. You need to have patched your Apple TV while it was still running 1.1 and updated to 2.0 using a “safe update”. It’s like Safari everywhere. Spooky.
