Thomas wrote about a casting call for a multicultural iPhone ad back in April. Turns out it wasn’t a scam, but it wasn’t an official Apple ad either. A production company called Consultants put together the piece (in both 60 second and 30 second flavors), which features people of different ethnic background in New York City, all talking about the iPhone. In a reversal from Apple’s own ads, which feature the phone to the exclusion of anything else, the unofficial spot only shows the phone in picture form at the very end, focusing instead on the people.
It’s a different direction from Apple’s ads, certainly, but still pretty well done. Check the links above for a high quality version, or just watch the YouTube version below.
