UK Get a Mac ads now available

UK Get a Mac Dan let you know they were coming, but the UK version of the Get a Mac ads are now available. They’re now complete with British accents. The Mac looks a lot older than Justin Long while PC doesn’t even have glasses. The shame of it all.

“Restarting” looks to be simply a re-adapted version of the US commercial as is “Trust Mac” and “Pie Chart”. I love the british vocabulary that’s thrown in. It’s making me feel more refined.

Now, what about an Australian version?

Yeah, women love my British accent and vocabulary.

I meet the occasional "bird" who thinks I'm Australian. I stop flirting with them at that point.

The new UK Mac ads feature two comedic actors, David Mitchell (PC) and Robert Webb (Mac), who both star together in “Peep Show” on Channel 4 in the UK.

In Peep Show, they play roomates (or is that flatmates) and the show is shot directly from each other's point-of-view.

The characters fall pretty well in line with their computer counterparts. The PC actor plays a bumbling, uptight professional obsessed with military history, while the Mac actor is a slightly more hip slacker trying to break into the music business. Needless to say, their sitcom parallels might not be quite complimentary to the products they represent in the ad, but are very, very funny.

The show is hilarious! I've caught several episodes on GUBA and have seen the first season DVD available here in the states!

Definitely worth watching.

Naaah! They haven't a patch on the US originals. Although, I suppose those over here in Ireland and the UK who have never seen the originals will appreciate them. I'm still not sure about the choice of actors though – they don't quite have the same 'contrast' as their US counterparts.
