Here’s something that’s sure to satisfy your Sunday night Get a Mac ad hunger: a new commercial is up on Apple’s Get a Mac page, titled “Referee”.
In this one, a referee whistles in the ad and reviews a certain call made by the Wall Street Journal. Does the ruling stand? You’ll have to watch to find out! This is undoubtedly a wink to the ongoing NFL playoffs, and it smartly applies some football vocabulary to the computing world.
I’d give it a “Good” rating. It’s nice to see a third character added once in a while. What do you think?
I like the nod to the setting (the white void), "Where am I supposed to go?"
Ok, its now time to end these adverts. I mean, what does this latest one tell us? Its like Ford putting out an advert saying the new Focus is faster and handles better than the Mazda 6 according to some magazine with a Ford bias...
The Get a Mac ads really irritate Messieurs Gates and Balmer as they are a constant reminder of what a quality UNIX based OS and well integrated hardware can do. They claim to be the innovators and the Apple ad agency has found an effective way to remind computer users that they are not. Apparently the message is even beginning to get through to enterprise buyers, too.
