Paul McCartney would like you to dance. Specifically, tonight. That’s what I’m getting from Apple’s latest iTunes ad, anyway. The former Beatle pimps his new album, Memory Almost Full, in a trippy surrealistic ad in which I almost expect him to start being followed around by cartoon bluebirds. McCartney’s new album debuted on iTunes earlier this month.
Of course, the McCartney album isn’t an exclusive to iTunes; it’s available on other services as well. Strangely enough, though the rest of McCartney’s back catalog is available in iTunes Plus, the latest album is not, as it was released by Starbucks’s Hear Music label rather than EMI.
Well, if you count John Lennon’s posthumous appearance on a Think Different poster, that makes two members of The Beatles who’ve been in Apple advertisements. Ringo, your move.
