For those who didn’t quite enjoy our April Fools shenanigans as much as we did, maybe this will cheer you up: new Get a Mac ads! In addition to releasing three iPhone commercials earlier today, Apple also posted two new adventures from the much beloved Mac & PC duo.
In the first, “Yoga”, PC takes up yoga to make him forget his many shortcomings and bad decisions. MacUser HQ believes the yoga woman is played by actress Judy Greer, and I have to say her performance is pretty funny.
The second, “Breakthrough”, features Mac and PC in a therapy session, which doesn’t quite have the desired effect on PC’s state of mind. Sounds familiar? It should — there was a similar ad a while back, “Counselor.”
Apparently, they both aired during tonight’s American Idol show. Speaking of, since Apple and the reality show are BFFs now, why don’t the judges film an ad? Simon could totally diss PC, and then Paula would console him. Genius, right?
MacUser is your source for news, info, and opinion about Apple, the Mac, and the iPod. Our dedicated team of bloggers covers everything that is relevant to Mac users — and, okay, some stuff that’s not quite relevant, but is still a lot of fun.
And Randy Jackson would sit in the background and say sentences ending with "dog"?
My only problem with your shenanigans was that you emphasized the fact that you are not a news organization. Many news blogs made this faux-pax and this will only result in people trusting the source less.
You have a "brand" to live up to, even if your content is free to readers. Toyota doesn't sell luxury cars in the US (this is why Lexus was founded) and you shouldn't give away shenanigans. This isn't Fake Steve Jobs.
that would be "dawg", jeff ;)
Woo hoo! No more Justin Long. It's finally funny.
I believe the therapist is Joey's (from Friends) "Fruit Basket" girl...
Umm, Justin Long would be the younger, skinnier, black haired fellow on the right, Anonymous. Seems to me Oliver Sacks described a condition where a patient "lost" her left or right side (fascinating story, really). May be time to call a neurologist.
I like the fact that it's the same therapist.
Is it just me or does that page with all the ads not behave properly in Apple's own browser? I tried to navigate from the HD Breakthrough to Counselor--no glory.
