Domo, Macu-des

getamacjp.jpgMan, this is kind of eerie. It’s like a trip into Bizarro land. Apple Japan has the Japanese language versions of its Get a Mac commercials featuring not John Hodgman and Justin Long with bad dubbing, mind you, but two different actors portraying the PC and Mac roles. The wardrobe and scripts seem pretty similar to the American ads, but here’s a question for you guys: do you still want to be the PC even when it’s not John Hodgman?

Despite the fact that I can only understand one or two words in each ads (mainly the ones in English), I still found them pretty amusing. Wait a second…I’ve got an idea. Now that Justin Long’s off dying hard, maybe we could replace him with his Japanese counterpart. Eh? Eh?

Also, as one Digg commenter points out, does this mean that when they get around to doing the “Network” spot that the digital camera will speak in English? Food for thought.

The Japanese version of "Mac" is "Makku," not "Macu."

And the copula, while pronounced "des," is Romanized as "Desu."
