Apple ad executive becomes a Rockstar

Rockstar GamesSaying that advertising is a big thing to Apple is like saying that Clint Eastwood is a sort of a tough guy. TBWA Chiat/Day has long worked as Apple’s advertising agency, having developed ads such as the famous “1984” spot and the “Think Different” campaign. They’ve been Apple’s advertising agency for ten years now.

So what does it mean that the World Group Account Director for Apple at TBWA recently jumped ship to join Rockstar Games? Video game aficionados will know Rockstar as the publisher of games like Grand Theft Auto, Bully, and Max Payne. Alex Moullé-Berteaux will become the Head of Marketing for Rockstar. As Apple’s account director, he actively lead development on ads for all of Apple’s products, from the Mac to the iPhone.

Of course, a company like Apple certainly has a large team working on their ad account, so we can assume that another capable executive will step into Mr. Moullé-Berteaux’s shoes. Meanwhile, we hope Alex enjoys the switch from getting crank calls from Bill Gates to getting crank calls from Jack Thompson.
