The NSW Police Department from Australia has recently launched a series of minimalist but very expressive ads cautioning iPod users of the dangers associated with wearing headphones while crossing the street.
Each ad shows a person lying on the street—presumably having gone over to the other side—with a white earphone cord outlining his/her stiff body and connected to an iPod. A simple message on the corner reads, “Watch for cars when wearing headphones”. This is what effective advertising is all about.
We’re not too sure Apple will hold the same opinion though. An advertisement campaign from a law enforcement agency that can be very easily misinterpreted as depicting the iPod itself as the killer device (and not in a good way) can’t exactly be good for Apple’s bottom line.

Hey, if they have to see this poster to get the idea maybe Darwin needs to cull them.
I almost got hit by a car walking with my iPod on. However, I live in San Francisco when pedestrian have a right to jaywalk and be oblivious to car!
They'll run you over even if you are not wearing an iPod. Usually the driver is to busy playing with there cell phone and not paying attention! iPods don't get people run over, drivers not paying attention get people run over.
