I love Mac accessory manufacturer LaCie simply because their creativity, simplicity, design, and reliability parallels that of Apple. So when I read that LaCie announced six new products today especially for 2007, I couldn’t help but get a little tingly.
First of all, LaCie has released a Blu-ray external DVD drive for $1149, still a bit expensive for my style—I’m waiting for Apple to jump in on this one. They also released four new hard drives, covering everything from a quad interface, ethernet, a biometric fingerprint scanner, and RAID. Last, but certainly not least, LaCie has entered the audio market with their FireWire speakers (that’s right, their powered by the FireWire bus) which will run you $79. Hopefully I’ll get to demo a few of these new devices at Macworld next week.
